Fungal Nail

Is there treatment for fungal nail? 

When I was around 15 I started noticing my nails started turning yellow and getting cracked.  I had always been a nail bitter.  My nails were very short and ugly.  When I was around 19 my toe nails started cracking and getting all crudy looking.

I was embarassed to take my shoes of or wear flip flops.  Its tough when your a kid and your dealing with problems such as fungal nail.  My parents took me to the doctor and they just gave me your standard fungus creme and sent me on my way.
